I change how I eat once in awhile and this is my latest eating pattern. It's helped me lose 30 lbs. and seems to save money.
In the morning:
2% milk, chocolate Spirutein, and ground flaxseed in a blender.
Sweet Potato muffin
Recipe:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
In large bowl, combine 2 cups King Arthur White whole wheat flour, 1 tbs baking powder, 1/2 tsp baking soda, 1/2 tsp salt, 1 tsp cinammon, 1/2 cup sugar. Add 2 cups mashed sweet potatoes (microwave to medium sweet potatoes for 7 minutes and cool), 1/2 cup golden raisins, 1/4 cup chopped walnuts, 1/2 cup water. Mix and spoon into muffin pan for 12 muffins. Bake for 20 minutes. Very moist delicious muffins. The white whole wheat makes the difference.
Lunch:
I make my own soup by using Rapunzel vegan bouillon no salt cubes as a base. Then I add any kind of vegetables, beans, spices, or pasta that I want. I also eat a sweet potato muffin. I'm not tired of them yet.
Dinner:
Usually a homemade pasta.
Pasta Bruscetta:
Boil spagetti in salted water for time indicated on package. Noddles should remain slightly firm. In wok saute 2 cloves garlic in olive oil. Add 4 large chopped tomatoes, some chopped up basil leaves, a few dashes of balsamic vinegar. When noddles are done, drain, and add tomato mixture.
My main snack is Snyders corn chips and Herdez Salsa.
I drink green tea non-stop with stevia, the real kind without other kinds of artificial sweeteners added in. Mine comes in single packets.
I also chew Spry fruit gum sweetened wit Xylitol. I ordered the larger quantites from Amazon.
That is how I eat and I'm happy with it. It's helped me stay away from sugar and dairy overloading. I have treats when I'm away from work but I can control my urges better.
