Movie: White Material: French movie in unnamed African country. White french woman is determined to bring in a coffee crop during civil war, violence, and family falling apart. Her 18-year-old son finally gets out of bed only to get caught up with looting, gun-carrying orphans scouring the countryside. Mysterious film with totally unexpected character-happenings.

Movies I've seen lately:
The Fugutive (1993) I got this from Netflix because Roger Ebert reviewed it highly. A doctor begins running from the law after being convicted of his wife's murder and he escapes from a prison bus. Tommy Lee Jones is the US Marshall chasing him and provides his usual eastern Texas pragmatism--he is probably what you would call the highlight of the movie. I wasn't really in love with this movie; we've come along way from 1993 in cinema and it just looks too hackneyed in parts.
